QuickBooks Online Apprenticeship

Paid, Part-Time, Remote

How do you get bookkeeping experience if no one will hire you yet?

Many students ask that question when they finish a bookkeeping course. This apprenticeship is one answer.

It’s a paid, part-time opportunity to gain real QuickBooks troubleshooting experience while helping students working through bsnsBasics bookkeeping and QuickBooks courses, along with assisting review and improvement of course assignments and practice sets.

The apprenticeship is part of the bsnsBasics course program, where students work through bookkeeping and QuickBooks training supported by our instructor team. Apprentices work alongside a member of the team while helping students move through the material.

During The Apprenticeship You’ll Learn How To:

  • diagnose QuickBooks issues students encounter

  • explain bookkeeping concepts to beginners

  • troubleshoot assignments when numbers don’t match

  • review assignments and practice sets from a beginner’s perspective

  • identify where instructions need improvement

What This Is:

  • Six-month, part-time apprenticeship

  • About 8–12 hours per month working remotely either interacting with students online or reviewing current course content

  • Monthly stipend: $400–$500 depending on experience

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Responding to student questions in our private student community

  • Troubleshooting QuickBooks Online setup issues

  • Helping students figure out why their numbers don’t match

  • Reviewing and proofing assignments and practice sets before release

  • Identifying confusing instructions or errors and suggesting improvements

  • Encouraging discussion and helping students stay engaged with the material

  • Helping maintain a helpful and supportive learning community

  • Reviewing lessons from a beginner’s perspective

  • Helping improve troubleshooting guides

Most of the interaction work of this role happens either inside our private student community or through email where students ask questions as they work through assignments. Students post or email questions as they work through assignments, and the goal is to help them think through the problem rather than just giving them the answer. Part of the apprenticeship is learning how to guide those conversations so students gain confidence solving issues themselves.

This Is For Anyone Who:

  • is early in their bookkeeping career

  • enjoys solving messy real-world problems

  • wants real QuickBooks troubleshooting experience

  • is comfortable explaining concepts to beginners

You do not need to know everything. But you should be comfortable saying: “I’m not sure yet, but here’s what I think might be happening.”

Basic Qualifications:

Applicants should have:

  • a basic bookkeeping foundation

  • at least some familiarity with QuickBooks Online

  • clear written communication

QuickBooks certification is required within the first 20 - 30 days, if not already completed.

Time Commitment:

Work is flexible and remote. Most work involves interacting with students, responding to questions, and assisting learners in a timely manner. Other work will be at your discretion on an ongoing basis.

Compensation:

Monthly apprenticeship stipend: $400–$500 depending on relevant experience.

The goal of the stipend is to compensate for your time while you gain real troubleshooting experience.

Apprenticeship Structure:

The apprenticeship runs for approximately six months.

During that time you’ll gradually move from observing troubleshooting conversations to handling questions independently.

At the end of the apprenticeship, the role may conclude or it may transition into an ongoing part-time support role depending on fit and workload.
